Umpires

A great way to make extra money working evenings and helping your community is to become an umpire!  You must be 15 years-old by April 1.  New and experienced umpires are needed for this Season.  Diamond Council will provide training clinics and help you get started.

Recreational league and Competitive League Umpires can earn $40-45/game working in our competitive leagues.  Anyone interested to umpire in our competitive leagues, please download our Umpire Application and send it directly to the Diamond Council.

Diamond Council is recruiting umpires for our Spring/Summer leagues.  If you are interested to umpire, please fill out the our umpire application form: Umpire Application .  Dates of games are April  through Early July.  We will also need a W-9 IRS form.  http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw9.pdf  .  These are evening games Monday-Fridays, first game is 6:00 and second game time depends on age division.

Umpires in our leagues will need to wear the following uniform:
Baseball:  Navy Shirt, gray pants, black shoes.   (USSSA);
Softball:  Red or Navy blue shirt, gray pants, black shoes.  (USSSA);
All umpires will need to provide their own equipment (face mask, shin guards, chest protector, plate brush, and clicker).

Below is information about umpire clinics hosted by Diamond Council for our competitive league umpires.  Mr. Ron McMillan will be the instructor for our umpire training clinics.   You must attend one classroom and one field mechanics clinic.  These clinics are open to Coaches to attend as well.

Classroom Dates:   TBD  You need to attend only one

Field Dates:  TBD  Again attend one.

Remember you only have to attend one softball and one baseball.

Letter to :  Diamond Council Umpires New and Experienced,

College students and others who have school related conflicts, let me know and we will work out training so that you can work when your conflicts end.

It is time for us to beginning to prepare for the upcoming Fall Season.  Our Competitive Baseball (BB) and Fastpitch Softball (SB) Leagues will start Mid April; and the Recreational Leagues Mid May.   We will also have tournament opportunities available.

What training do you need to attend?  One Rules Clinic for each Sport you plan to work.  We highly recommend attending both to allow all of us flexibility.  You will also need to attend the appropriate Field Mechanic Training sessions.

What equipment or Uniform will I need prior the Rules clinic?  Nothing, come dressed casual for indoor training, paper and pen or pencil is recommended.  A good attitude is required!

What is the cost for the Training? This Training is provided free of cost thanks to the generosity of Diamond Council.  Additionally if you agree to work our leagues, Diamond Council will pay your registration for USSSA.

Where will the Training be held?  The Rules or Classroom Clinics will be held at the Boone Electric Coop which is just north of Business Loop 70 on Rangeline Street. We meet in the community room on the North side of the building. The Field Mechanics will be in Cosmos Park at the Antimi Fields.  We will meet in the Umpires Room on the Second Floor of the Concession Stand Building.
